Kermit The Frog - Lime In The Coconut

Sadly, if it hadn't been for Sad Kermit, it may have been another decade before I'd reacquainted myself with the genius of The Muppet Show...

But Wait...It Just Gets Weirder...

Hydrofoil sailboat racing...right...

Canoe Sailing...The Strange, Strange World of Sports

Alright, I'll admit to having a bit of a bias against petroleum-powered sports, but competitive canoe sailing is just...weird...

...And Now For Something Completely Different

Wow, some amazingly in-depth reporting from Ted Alexander at WTKR, News Channel 3-

Spring Is Here...Watch For Cyclists

The last Friday of every month is special for bicycle riders in Norfolk. That's when the Critical Mass Norfolk group gets together for a ride around the city.

"I enjoy being outside and it's a great way to get from point A to B and you actually expend energy that's free doing it." explained Michelle Collier before her first ride with Critical Mass.

Fun is just one of the reasons dozens of riders showed up at the corner of Colley and Baldwin in Norfolk Friday. Yvonne Oden was there with her husband Paul and 23-month old daughter Ameila.

"To show that bikers have a right to share the road and that biking is a friendly way to get around."

Some motorists believe the two-wheelers should stick to the sidewalk. There's a problem with that theory. In many Virginia cities it is illegal to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk.

Keep that in mind when you're driving past a group of cyclists on that beautiful spring day.

Keep in mind that television is a visual medium, and the true impact of Ted's amazing reportage can't be conveyed without the video footage...but unfortunately WTKR didn't see fit to post the video...

Wow Ted, next time you might bother to mention that one of the "many Virginia cities" where it's "illegal to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk" is Norfolk...but hey, that might require a little bit of research...almost as much research as checking out the Critical Mass Wiki...
